Time Is One of The Most Precious Gifts We Can Give to Our Children

Hi! This is my first entry. I should be sleeping & I'm really tired, but I'm waiting for the washing machine to stop so I can put the clothes in the dryer before I go to sleep. I had a nice day. I had a great day! It's different having Ethan away at school. He goes to school in the afternoons at 1:00 pm, so I'm pretty busy getting my daycare kids to bed, brushing Ethan's teeth, getting him changed, his lunch bag packed, his hair done :) - you know! When he drives away on that big yellow bus, I am left standing there with Ty. My sweet little Ty. And all of a sudden, my quiet and introverted boy becomes quite chatty. I have to say that I just love what is happening between Titus and I. When Ethan was home, Ty shared me with his big brother. Ty would go for his nap and Ethan would stay downstairs and rest on the couch watching TV or something & we would hang out and talk or whatever. When Ethan first left for school, everything in me wanted to just hurry up and get Ty down for a nap so that I could FINALLY have some time for myself. But instead I gave my time to Ty. So as soon as Ethan leaves, Titus and I have some special time together. We don't really do all that much. We walk over to the mailbox together, then Ty has a little drink and a small snack or something and we just talk. Ty talks and talks and talks. We talk about all kinds of things that are important to him...we sing and laugh - everyday is different. We just hang out. I love it! I love it, I love it, I love it! I can see how much this is affecting Ty. We have become closer and he feels so special. I have learned that "our time" is one of the most precious gifts that we can give to our children. Ty feels important. He knows that he is getting my undivided attention and he feels special. And I still have time to myself after Ty crawls into his bed for a little nap at 1:30.

Above is a picture that I took of Ty during our special time together this afternoon, as well as a picture of Ethan on his very first day of school! I love my boys so, so much!

Lori,
Yeah, this is so much fun. I'm not sure how to link people to our sites - I still have to play around with this a lot - but that sounds like a great idea.
Love,
Tracy

This is a really nice thing for you to do. I really hope that you find out more about yourself as you continue this journey of self discovery. Just remember that you need your sleep too.

Love you queenie.
